There are many things that we desire in our lives, a good job, loving and understanding partner, big house, fame and glory, luxurious cars, but one thing we cherish and desire the most- our health. Happiness and health are two things that money cannot buy, regardless how rich we are. Considering this, we must make sure that we are doing all we can to preserve our health.
So how exactly to keep our health at its peak?
Starting a day with an exercise is a great way to pump the blood and regulate the blood pressure. It keeps our body in shape and prepared for daily tasks that we set as goals for the day. Jogging in the morning is a great way to start the day. Breathing the fresh air, pumping the muscles with blood and increasing the serotonin count will make you engulfed with a feeling of joy and happiness. Serotonin contributes to the feeling of well-being and exercise helps stimulate and release more of this precious hormone in our body.
Smile as often as you can
This doesn’t mean that you should smile at every person that you meet on the street or a supermarket. We are talking about a genuine and natural smile that triggers chemicals in our body to feel relaxed and happy. So enjoy the moments of laughter with your friends and colleagues and bring the smile on your as well as their face.
Help others that are in need
Helping the ones in need can be done in many ways, it doesn’t have to be a donation to an orphanage or hospital, church. Helping random individuals in any way you can, whether it’s just a small talk with a stranger or advising your friend on what is the best solution for their problems brings feeling of fulfillment and happiness.
Spend a day in nature
Spending a day in a nearby forest, or even natural park will let you escape the artificial city lights and harmful noise that crowded city brings. Everyday life in overcrowded cities can be stressful, with all the commotion and traffic jams. Being connected with nature for even one day a week can bring balance to the body and enhance your health. So pack you camping gear, or bring your fishing equipment and use that one day per week for yourself.
Drink a lot of water
The human body consists of 80 percent water, so it is only natural that to function properly our body needs a certain amount of this precious life-giving a liquid. Drink as much as 2 to 3 liters per day and even more on those humid and hot summer days. This way we are providing to our body the main ingredient for it to function properly avoiding overheating and dehydration.
Eat a lot of greens.
Eating vegetables that are full of vitamins essential to our body health is a must. Stay away from processed foods and ingest only natural food, like vegetables, fruits, nuts and you should be just fine.
